GH Engage is recruiting for one of our well-renowned construction consultancy clients who is actively seeking an ASSISTANT COST CONSULTANT to provide support to their cost consultancy team.
The role can include but is not limited to:
- Assisting on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
- Producing estimates, cost plans and cost reports.
- Checking and analysing the tenders and drafting tender report
- Dealing with variations and the change control processes, negotiating less financially significant or complex matters
- Taking a lead on the tendering and procuring, including managing the pre-qualification stage, producing the tender list, putting the preliminaries together, tender analysis, producing the tender report and compiling the contractual documents.
- Dealing effectively with the post contract changes and implementing efficient tools to track change and report regularly to clients.
- Liaising with the client, contractors, designers, etc.
- Taking personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects and in all cases ensuring that timely and accurate cost checking and valuation takes place
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
- Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications/Degree in cost management or equivalent.
- Cost and commercial experience within a PQS/Consultancy firm.
- Excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate the preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations
- The ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to contribute towards the resolution of disputes, problems, and cost issues
- Communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally
Salary: £25,000-£35,000 based on experience
