COMMERCIAL MANAGER

GH Engage is recruiting for one of our well-established clients looking to hire a talented and motivated COMMERCIAL MANAGER to join their cost and commercial management team.

The role includes but is not limited to:

• Preparing project report meetings
• Enforcing Health & Safety
• Cash management and maximisation
• Measurement and valuation of works
• Subcontracting and Designing Procurement
• Subcontractor negotiation
• Risk contingency planning and mitigation strategies
• Advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
• Building up the supply chain to ensure processes are run smoothly
• Attending site progress meetings and present contractual reporting
• Representing a professional approach with the client to maximise turnover
• Ensuring all works completed are matching against the client specification
• Providing up to date forecasting accounts to present to key stakeholders
• Upholding variation to contract and liaise with the client to deliver a cost-effective alternative
• Intergral in all aspects related to finances, commercial and contractual works related to the schemes
• Managing sub-contractors, ensuring that procurement is carried out in a professional and efficient direction

The ideal candidate will have a:

• Previous experience within a Senior QS or Commercial Manager position
• Proven experience in client management/relationship development
• Proven experience in negotiation
• Previous experience working within large M&E projects
• Knowledge and comprehensive understanding of contracts (JCT or NEC or both)
• Demonstratable knowledge/understanding of contracts of Construction law and standard forms of contract
• Knowledge of engineering and client standards
• A working understanding of valuation techniques of construction works including elemental cost analysis of items such as labor, materials, plan, sub-contract and general expenses
• Experience in tendering and pre-contract cost analysis
• Understands conflict avoidance, conflict management and dispute resolution pro

Salary and Benefits includes:

• £70-£100k per annum based on experience + company benefits
