COST CONSULTANT

GH Engage is recruiting for some of our well-renowned construction consultancy clients who are actively seeking COST CONSULTANTS to join their welcoming work environments.

The role can include but is not limited to:

• Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports
• Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project
• Managing estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan
• Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages (including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection, and contract preparation) are performed effectively
• Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively
• Producing accurate monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client
• Undertaking value engineering and lifecycle costing
• Negotiating and concluding final accounts
• Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
• Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Degree in quantity surveying, cost management or equivalent qualification and a member of a relevant institution such as RICS would be beneficial
• Cost and Commercial experience in a construction consultancy environment
• Project-based experience of working on construction projects/M&E.
• Excellent attention to detail, able to gather, interpret and present data to facilitate the preparation of budgets and subsequent valuations.
• The ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to contribute towards the resolution of disputes, problems, and cost issues.
• The ability to work on own initiative, with the drive to take ownership of projects.
• Communication skills, the ability to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.

Salary:

45k-80k based on experience
