Intermediate Mechanical Technical Buyer

The successful applicant will play a key role in the procurement of all Mechanical material for all live jobs. The successful applicant will work closely with the Procurement and Accounts teams in ensuring the smooth transition of all Mechanical orders from Technical Submittal to full Procurement and finally to final stages of invoicing.

Job Specification

  • Analyze & establish cost parameters against budgets for purchases
  • Create and maintain good relationships with manufactures/suppliers
  • Make professional decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain records of purchases, pricing, items library, and other important data
  • Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and price options
  • Help develop plans for purchasing equipment, services, and supplies
  • Negotiate the best deal whilst considering the whole supply chain.
  • Ensure that the products and supplies are high quality and delivered on time
  • Maintain and update a list of suppliers, delivery times, and mitigate against delays
  • Work with team members and Senior Buyer to complete duties as needed
  • Attend Project Meetings when required

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in procurement, M&E or engineering
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
  • Ability to negotiate, establish, and bring deals over the line.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills, ability to work to deadlines.
  • Managing own time effectively.
  • Problem solver.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
  • Goal-oriented, organized team player
