Job
An M&E Engineer is required by an end-user company to support their portfolio of Data Centres, predominantly based to the West of London. This is a great opportunity for a design engineer who perhaps wants to transition in to the data centre industry, which is consistently growing and becoming one of the most secure sectors in an uncertain market.
Accountabilities:
- An integral member of the Engineering Department and supporting the team with its various objectives along with the day to day engineering activities within the data centres.
- Support the Engineering Department in identifying opportunities to improve site infrastructure and reduce our power usage effectiveness.
- Undertake projects of an engineering nature under the direction of the Senior M&E Engineer and Engineering discipline subject matter specialists.
- Correlate, check and report on the capacity elements and installed infrastructure within the data centres as part of the data centre capacity management.
- Support the Data Centre Managers in an advisory nature in their day to day duties.
- Own the management of all site infrastructure schematics.
- Understand and increase knowledge of Data Centre Building services, systems and component’s operation by involvement with manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing of building service equipment, further, to confirm that it meets functional specifications and customer requirements.
Experience and Requirements
- OND/HND in an engineering discipline – Mechanical or Electrical.
- Commercial experience with Mechanical or Electrical systems.
- It is essential that you are a motivated self-starter who is willing and eager to learn, train and further your knowledge, skills and career.
