Job Description: Mechanical Project Manager
Salary: £70,000 – £75,000

Company Overview: Join a dynamic and growing M&E subcontractor that is a subsidiary of a well-established commercial and fit-out subcontractor. Our client specializes in high-quality Cat A and Cat B fit-outs for commercial office spaces.
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to manage multiple live projects ranging in value from £250,000 to £1.5 million. You will oversee 1-3 projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all mechanical aspects of commercial office fit-out projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all milestones.
- Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Ensure all mechanical installations comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to project specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and plan upcoming tasks.
- Implement and enforce health and safety policies on site.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure all safety measures are in place and adhered to.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical project aspects.
- Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress and any issues encountered.
- Ensure client requirements and specifications are understood and met.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, site reports, and quality assurance documentation.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all mechanical installations are properly documented and as-built drawings are updated.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in mechanical project management, particularly in commercial office fit-out projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and ductwork.
- City & Guilds qualifications in Plumbing & Heating, HVAC, Ductwork, or an HNC/Degree in a related field.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
