Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 basic salary (Plus additional company benefits)
Location: North London/Surrounding area
Company Description
My client is a specialist residential developer that specialises in high-end developments in North London and the surrounding counties. They pride themselves on growth and maintaining a keen eye for detail throughout each project that they carry out. The projects that my client carries out will often take the form of low-rise RC frame structures or traditional one-off builds.
Due to an extremely healthy incoming project pipeline, the business now has a requirement for a Senior Quantity Surveyor. This job opening is a fantastic opportunity for a career driven Surveyor, who is seeking further career progression while gaining exposure to a growing and developing company with a sustainable forecasted growth plan for the foreseeable future.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain all cost control procedures and working within the guidelines set out within the Group policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for the compilation of all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as required.
- Contribute to the conceptual designs/options to ensure the design is kept within the budgeted values.
- Compile Site Start budget, liaising with all Departments to ensure document is completed on time to allow the construction to commence, and Sales to start marketing.
- Lead the value engineering, including updating Group and Regional site review documents, to ensure we achieve best value.
- Maintain budget control throughout development; and manage cost overruns within contingency levels.
- Complete accurate costing for each aspect of site development
- Analyse and report on costs and cash flow using the support systems available.
- Evaluate and agree variations and instructions, always aware of budgetary constraints, and ensuring that approval is obtained prior to agreement of variations more than the respective allowances
- Liaise with site personnel and subcontractors to maximise productivity.
- Compile and Present valuations at Divisional valuation meetings
Qualifications, Experience & Knowledge
- MSc or BSc in a RICS accredited field or HNC/HND in Construction preferrable
- 7+ years Quantity Surveying experience
- Experience with a Main Contractor essential
- Experience with refurbishments, joinery, or fit outs essential
- Experience in the high-end market preferrable
- Experience with valuations and variations, project budgeting, CVRs
